Turboelky Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 If your that young, and already are able to save.....keep saving! Cars are a bad investment. Invest your money into something to make more money, and the. Buy what you really want with profits. At 18, I had $0 so your doing something right, or someone is showing you the right ways!! Btw, 80's iroc's are slow, and that TPI is garbage. Keep the honda, do regular maintenance, and ride it until it dies!
hdorre Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 If it were me.. 300ZX TT or 3000GT VR4.. 90s Japanese cars all the way. Either one if those or an S14 Kouki. Maybe an RX7.. I don't care for the Rotary engines though. Thats just me. GTO or Fairlady Z are first though. RyanJ Posted December 18, 2013 Author Report Posted December 18, 2013 This is my first year at college. Thanks to my wonderful parents they are currently paying for my education. RyanJ Posted December 18, 2013 Author Report Posted December 18, 2013 Don't get me wrong, at the end of the day, not buying anything is worth it. But I'm 18, and I'm going to college to get more money later. (I hope). So why not enjoy my life at 18 by building a project car and by 19-20, hittin the track with a 10 second car (I wish). boom50cal Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 What about 18mpg city and 23-25 highway is bad about a LS1 stock f-body car with a T56 6 speed? With a killer Texas speed cam, LS6 intake, 243 heads, 40-something pound injectors, a killer twin disc clutch, headers to 3 inch true dual exhaust, and a full spool rear end with 4.10 gears....dynoing 395 at the WHEELS on a hot Texas day...still gets 15 city and 22 highway. 02 full weight with A/C Trans Am WS6. That's my friend Josh's car. Actually just sold it too... So an extremely reliable daily driver, with all the comforts, and a 450 horsepower lightweight LS1 V8(at the crank) that he could literally drive everywhere. LSx f-body cars are damn near the perfect daily driverable performance car. Foxbody mustangs/capri's are second. Lightweight, cheap as hell...you can literally put whatever motor you can think of to put in it... Oh, and forget about having a boosted V6 car getting decent mileage. Your 18/19, driving responsibly is impossible. My 96 RCSB Silverado had a "376" hp Vortec 350 crate motor in it, never dyno'ed it but that's what the guy that had it before me said it made with a good tune on 93.... The motherfucker flew. Stage 2 60e auto, 3.08 rear gear. My dad could get 17-18 in the city, I could do 14 MAYBE. On 1/4/2013 at 9:31 PM, HatersGonnaHate said: Wow. 184 posts and I think you're a fucking asshole.
XX7R Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Trust me don't get a 300zx.. They are an absolute pain in the ass to work on and all the parts are really expensive. I own a 300zx TT right now and regret every second of it.
