My sons mom abandoned him at 3 and I've been a single father since (he's 10 now), I use my refund to catch up on bills (if needed) (and I have NO credit cards so thats not any back bills i have) and the rest I put in my sons savings account. He's the reason I get a refund so I reinvest it in him for his future. Just cause you have kids and get a refund doesn't mean you're a bad person that "cheats" the system. Yep I spend 300-400 on my self tops out of it, rest goes to paying bills and stuff like that. I have never got a car with it or went on a vacation with it. Some people are smart and use it to pay bills, invest, or w/e.
