REVOofRustler Posted May 8, 2016 Report Share Posted May 8, 2016 Been doing some work on the S4 the last couple of days. I started noticing a tick when I would be standing in front of the car. Sounded like it was coming from the front of the motor. Pulled it apart and found that my serpentine belt was about done. Hoping the flat spot in the belt is what was causing the sound. I ran the car for a second with the belt off (only thing belt driven on this thing is the alternator) and I didn't notice the noise at all. I'm gonna be refreshing some of the coolant components as well as try to figure out where my AC leak is while I have it apart.
