Krakin
That's the same thing I'm asking my university to tell me lol. I would suggest getting a hold on the basics of electricity first with these two books. http://www.ibiblio.org/kuphaldt/electricCircuits/DC/DC.pdf http://www.ibiblio.org/kuphaldt/electricCircuits/AC/AC.pdf Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. SIDE SHOW
eg = amps with tubes/fuses switches/jumpers inside of the amp themselves to me would mean they are geared more towards sq. would that be wrong? cheers for those links too, having a read now
White Lightning
My favorite kind of (SQ) amplifier is one that has no built in crossover network of any kind. EQ and crossover networks are for head units and processors. Amplifiers are meant to do one thing ... Amplify signal very effectively. The ideal amplifier wouldn't even need a gain knob. It would be built to be completely gain matched with it's source unit for maximum headroom. White Lightning
L.P. for true Quality. LOL, I'm not necessarily speaking for LP just because that's my favorite brand of amplifier ... But I feel that all of those "added" electronics makes it easier to introduce distortion or add stress to the amplifier when it needs power most. Just the way it seems to me. Plus most of the multi channel amplifiers you see in for repair today is mostly for crossover electronics and not general amplifier functionality.
