This is the worst snow and ice we've had in a while, but for some fucking reason the DOT wasn't really prepared and didn't even do anything (salting roads, etc) to make the situation better. And everyone's a little pissed at our governor. He said, "I wasn't going to take drastic actions based on a 'maybe.'" Like, fuckin' kiddin' me? There was winter storm warning and you didn't think it may be a good idea to shut down schools and such? As far as people's driving, it seems like no one in the city has any clue how to drive on this. I'm way out in the sticks and haven't seen hardly any accidents, and none of them were comparable to the ones in the city. TL;DR: Apparently not because we had an avoidable state-wide shutdown, but no one did anything to prevent it. Yes, there was a warning. And yes, most people do, but they go fuckin' crazy when they think they may be stuck for a few days. I've been here my whole life, and I still don't get it.
