Found a squirrel under the hood.

Recommended Posts

As the title says. Found a buddy dead in the engine bay. Heres my dilemma:

My car has had shifting issues. Pulling out of a Parking spot when it goes into reverse, it takes unusually longer than normal to shift into reverse. Like 3 seconds Long and its jerks into gear.

After a drive to work it would shift in and out of all gears fine.

Also shifting from certain gears like 1-2 the revs would spike or rev high for a sec really weird before getting into gear.

Anyway I have a dealer appt tom am. Looking in the engine bay there is a dead squirrel right on top of the shift box or w.e

I had a friend shift gears and you can clearly see the shifting pivot arm or w.e rubbing and moving this dead squirrel.

My question is what do I do? The dealer will clearly fault me for this. Which isnt thier fault at all I guess. But if he chewed some wires or maybe hes just stuck there it might be the cause.

Should I leave it for the dealer to find or remove it and act like idk what happened in the hopes that they fix it or something?

Help asap please. Thanks

Yea removal is fine w.e. but which would be better in terms of warranty coverage.

throw it away. (take a pic if you really want) then take it in and show them where it was. tell them what's going on with the shifting.

You probably don't have to drive to the dealership with a dead squirrel cooking on your headers to keep your warrenty intact. I could be wrong though.

ALSO... PIC's of said squirrel
