Markous
In '94 a friend in HS had a LeBaron with a couple of 12" JL's in it and i was amazed at how it sound so good. That gave me the bug, it wasn't until '02 that the bug re-surfaced and i could afford to put a system in my own vehicle but i'll never forget that his car was the first awesome system i experienced. hershy314
Back in 1995 I picked up an issue of Car Audio and Electronics (I think). I remember it had a maroon BMW 7series on the cover. That one magazine is what got me into car audio at first. Kind of fell out of it cause I never had a car to call my own until I was bout 27 lol. I got back into car audio after watching a few vids that Steve Meade had up on youtube. Still got an interest in the hobby, err...life style. http://athphotography.deviantart.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/hershy314

hammiethebasshead
started when I was about 17. a buddy of mine had a loud as hell f-250 with 4 kicker 12's (not sure the model) but ever since hearing his car and his truck I have been hooked on speakers. my first setup was an audiobahn 10 in a sealed box then went to 2 audiobahn 12's in a bandpass (i was young and dumb) and things have slowly started to get better equipment wise. still have the 10. the 12's blew on my zx400.1 when I hooked them to it. now I have a really good understanding of audio and some good install knowledge I just don't have the kind of bank account I want so that I can get what I want. Currently running an older FI Q series 15 (the double stacked magnet one) on a kicker ZX1000.1 and it just needs to be louder once you get a speaker moving so hard that its possible to make tinsels slap, you are already kissing "SQ" goodbye. Don't get me wrong, as I smoke Marlboro Reds, but if I saw one more kid with that smug-ass look (Look at me I'm smoking indoors) on their face, I was going to shove that thing so far up someone's ass that they'd look like a hillbilly trying to understand quantitative prediction theorem. You know why people are ass holes online but not in person? Because getting punched in the mouth hurts.

DubNDodge
Honestly getting into car audio changed my life. Before I was listening to metal and etc. Really depressed in life. All I would do is play computer games all day and parents frowned upon it, making me more depressed with myself as that is was all I was really interested with in life. Had girl issues as well. Really put me in a massive slump. I was watching gaming videos on YT with some kind of techno music in the background, and got addicted. Found out it was called dubstep. Started finding a bunch of songs and really started getting into the whole dubstep scene. Saw a couple comments about how good it sounded on a subwoofer. (I had no clue what that was) Fast forward about a year later. Was at my friends house and he wanted to show me his system. Played some 6 foot 7 foot and showed me how much the subs moved (which wasn't much) but I thought it was the coolest thing in the world at that moment. Asked him to play the dubstep, so he did. After that I knew I needed a system. did some minor research. got a 12" type r on rf 500.1, sealed box because they had so much more "SQ" than ported. I couldn't tune it to save my life. Took it to best buy. Didn't trust them after it was done. Found out about the dd.1, along with a "system of the month" bringing me into this site. Got the dd.1 eventually. was hooked with bass by this point. Wanting to be louder did about a years worth of looking around on here, learning. making purchases as sales came through. then became addicted to SMD. installed all of my stuff beginning of '13. Now I am much happier in life, have a awesome hobby, and pointed me in the direction of my major, ECE (Electrical/Computer engineering) I look back at myself and I am damn grateful for this hobby/addiction. /endofTL;DR '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult. dangaranga
What got me hooked was when i was about 12-13, my dad had finally installed an old yamaha ''kicker box'' and old school Hi-Comp amp he had sitting in the garage in his econo beater he had at the time. and i remember him blowing the surrounds off those 2 10'' yamaha's due to old age and that night he ran out and bought 2 Mtx 6500 Series 10''s and i was hooked after we went "to the store" to test them out without my mother finding out lol that box was a strange design from what i remember, the two subs shared space and then there was a 15'' Passive radiator that was inside a bottom slot port, and at the time it sounded awesome. And then when we got my ranger, i built and installed a ported box for two 6.5'' subs before i was old enough to get my drivers permit lol Brandon 2000 Furd Ranger supercab 4x4 System: welding wire throughout the truck USalts 390amp Hairpin Juicebox in stock location 8 Banks of maxwell supercaps 2 American Bass Vfl 1100.1 wired to .35 each 2 Fi Audio Sp4 18's ( the DD sc 9918's smoked) Pioneer radio with Soundstream PA mids Powered by a nice sized soundstream 2 channel It's pronounced (dain-ja rain-ja) 2001 2 door focus 1 DD9918 SC
