So today, an angry man with a gun stormed into my shop...

and threatened to kidnap me and throw me in a cage if he ever heard my music again. Apparently, this man works for the city and also apparently (he was wearing a blue costume that said so)... he lives in the apartment complex about an 1/8 mile from my shop. Oh and... obviously, he doesn't like E40's song, "Back in Business". Personally, I think he's racist but hey, I could be wrong.

It was kinda funny in one sense because my shop is located on a property where there are any number of auto related businesses ranging from suspension shops to paint & body shops to muffler shops to car audio, and there are two of us there now. But in any event, he started at the first one and raised hell with every shop between that one and mine, all the while accusing all of them of being a nuisance and all the while making an ass of himself.

When he got to my shop he commenced to feeding me a ration of shit about neighborhoods and jail and blah blah blah but he never, ever once asked my if it was my music. However, he did go on to tell me that while he was in the process of making an ass of himself in front of every other business around me, that they all told him it was me. I was like... "Dude, I never denied it was me. This is a car audio shop and I demo for customers sometimes. It's how I make my living."

After that he calmed down slightly and then went back to complaining that the music was LOUD. It was really LOUD he said. Over and over and over with the LOUD.

And then I was like...

"Thanks. It's supposed to be loud."

Being that you are talking about your business, which I assume operates during normal business hours( anywhere from 8 to 8 ) I don't see a problem. THat's like being mad at the guy fixing the streets during the day

I don't know that I (or anyone else) would call my business hours normal because I'm open from noon till 8PM officially. I closed up at 12:20 this morning and I rarely ever lock up till after 9PM but when this guy left today, it was about 6:10PM.

I have an agreement with my landlord that I won't do loud demos or testing after 8PM or at all on Sundays and none of the other business owners mind my racket. In fact, if I'm doing a demo or testing a build for very long, most of them wind up coming over to listen and look, lol. Even had one guy from the neighborhood behind me drive up to the property looking for me once before... but not to complain. He wanted his system worked on, lol.
