timc31610
When making aluminum bus bars to connect several batteries together, how thick does the aluminum need to be? Is there a recommended size? gckless
Depends on the amount of batteries and size, but 1/4" usually works fine. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. MrSkippyJ
The overall size is important, not just the thickness. timc31610
Ok so I'm planning a wall build and I'm sure I'll need at least 4-6 batteries. I know Lowe's and home depot carry flat aluminum strips. I believe they are 1/4" thick by 1 1/2" wide. Is that enough? Could I double then up? Thanks for the responses guys, I'm trying to build up as much info as possible while the car is getting other stuff done. SlamminBeats
i have .75 thick and .625 straps. bigger is always better. should figure out what type of current you will be drawing with your system and get the proper thickness based on the cross sectional area of the bus bars.
