If you don't care about bells and whistles that the newer units have then get one if you can find them. I love mine and is quite possibly one of the best units ever made. For what you are looking for take the top of the line head units from each company and put them head to head. I hate pioneer. Everyone who knows me knows that so I don't even consider them. The 99PRS is exremely nice though and has the tag to go with it. The 80prs has everyone jocking it becasue its cheap for the features. I also see a ton of issues iwth them. If I'm looking at a single din, alpine tops my list followed by Kenwood.
