evos = 25k used. Way out of my range ? but Mazda 6s I heard are stock quick but the engine layout isn't a user friendly tuner.

The serious cars I was looking at

WRX , 08+ G35, s2k, 07+ 350z, maybe an Audi s4 older?, or a is300. I have to also factor in insurance and MPG

If you're looking for low maintenance, forget about an S4. I've been looking into S4's recently and the B5's (1998-2002) have issues with the stock K03 turbos blowing, intake pipes tearing, and sensors going out. B6/7's (2003 - 2008) have issues with the timing chains around the 100k mark. The timing chain assembly is on the back of the block too, so along with spending 3-5 grand on replacement parts, you'll also have to pull the motor to get it done.

As far as looking at alternatives, keep in mind that just because the other cars aren't WRX's doesn't mean they won't be driven hard.

15grand ish. I found few WRXs for that range private but most dealers are looking for 20.

Foreal? Damn.... And true about the other cars, but theyre more selection out there with other cars. A lot more g35s and audis than WRXs and STIs.

The B5's also have issues with syncros haha. I'm still planning on getting a B5 S4 Avant myself sometime soon, but I'm planning on keeping my truck so if/when something goes wrong I won't have transportation issues.

Yeah fuck an S4, grab B6 A4, just a timing belt kit not chain so its way cheaper. The 1.8T can be easily modded. I love my Avant. My buddy bought a Stage 3 B6 18 and is rebuilding it b/c the owner fucked him over. He's pretty much doing it himself and is helping me with minor shit on my car.

Every one of the cars you listed will have had the shit driven out of it. Just pick what you like. Be sure to go over any potential vehicle in a very detailed manner, even have a mechanic give it a once over if possible.

even the g35 sedans ? I'm looking at sedans because coupes insurance and just the overall factor that most tuned g35s are coupes, not all, but most.

And about the Audi, how is the mechanical work for being German? Is it less than the Beamer ? Mechanical is a big thing too as I don't want my car in the Shop every other weekend. I got a homie mechanic but if I'm at his house every weekend to fix minor shit, it might not be worth it to me cuz I'm still a college student.

rs4. every other week there was a issue. it was fast..real fast when it was working.

but sold it and bought a S2000. he's never been happier. things quick handles great mods don't cost $1,000,000.

i know your leaning towards a 4 door,so id say g35 sedan. (i know there damn near the same as a 350 but the 350 is just so ugly..and slow) or the S2000

id still go with a G 8 Pontiac tho ; )

S2000 is one of my 18-year old phase dream car. My overall is a supra ? but anyways I would get a s2k , but I'm 19, and INSURANCE IS SKY HIGH haha. But I love s2k. 8-9k redline, 2.0-2.2 4 cyl 240 hp 6 speed?! And it's HONDA??? I fuck with it but it cost about 12-20k used for an AP1/2 with 120 miles + on the low side and 60-80+ on high. Can't afford it.

And 350z and G35, I'll get the sedan cause 350 is insurance too. But I'm looking at an 08. Idk the reasons why you dislike the 350, but I couldn't buy the 07-08 prior engine with the DE engine which had oil problems. I'm looking at the newer HR engines.

And for Pontiac , never had an American car ... Ever haha or driven one in fact. Only car American I drove is a mustang GT lmfao
