GorillaFIngeRs Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 I am looking to purchase an Fi 12" sub. Not sure if I should go for the Q or the BL series, the sub will be in my daily driver (which i use for work and drive ALOT). I have seen people say that if you have to ask then go for the BL, which is the way i am currently leaning anyway. This sub will be around for a while and I will use the hell out of it so i want to be sure to make the right decision before investing in this sub. I will be putting the sub in a ported box as well and am looking for suggestions on a tuning frequency. I rode with a buddy the other day with a W7 that was tuned to 32hz according to him and was amazed at the drop off in the highs that i experience with my current setup. What would be the lowest you could tune to and still keep decent Highs? Thanks for any input. KiKaZz74 Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 I had the bl and beat the shit out of it. It seems to be a more spl sub. The q is regarded as more sq. Either way you would be happy. Both with handle over the 1500w rms if in the proper box. Both will sound good inthe proper box My SPL to SQ Build Log Vehicle:1997 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 2009 Dodge Journey SXT5.2L V8 Magnum 3.5L V6 Stock AltEquipment: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Taramps DSP3000.1D Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D SounDrive SDA3 12 Tweeters- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Hertz Hi-Energy Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" Processor- MiniDSP 2x4 RCA- 6 channels of SounDrive HF series Wire- EB Flex 2/0 -Member of Team SounDrive

tdsa23 Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 If you can get a havoc do it. It depends what you are looking for spl go with the bl. If you want sq get the fi Q but don't think the fi Q can't get loud cause it can. Jhunt94 Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 I have a Q 15 and love it, but if I had to switch it up and change to a 12, I'd probably go with an AA Havoc. I almost bought one not too long ago, and still might do it. They're pretty impressive. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab.
