Right now, we're just playing the waiting game until the surgery. Until then, she'll be on antibiotics and a very strict diet. She's still sick, but claims to feeling a little bit better each of the past few days. Ill keep you all updated if there are any major changes.

Over the last month I've been on here maybe once a week or so. but since I've read this thread I've been checking in at least twice a day.

with my finance, and a few close family members I've been threw some very familiar stuff.

it just hits really close to home for me.

so relieved to hear she's doing better, please keep the good news coming!the worst Is over, and like you said it's just a waiting game now.

best wishes bro!

  • 2 weeks later...

Just found out today that the initial infection was caused by E. coli. No telling where it came from, especially since only her and my Dad are in the house, and eat damn near identical diets.

Because of that infection, all food had a metallic taste to it, and she started to eat less and less. So, as the E. coli bacteria infection spread, she was becoming malnourished from not wanting to eat because of the metal taste. After a few days of not feeling good, she experienced a severe episode of hypoglycemia.

I also learned today that she flat-lined 3 or 4 times at the hospital.
