anyone ever use this deadener

Recommended Posts

I've heard that fatmat lies about the mega mat and that it's actually asphalt based too.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Aww damn man dont tell me that haha. Well if it is its already on the car and wont be coming off. I would like to find out if thats true or not though so I wont keep saying it is butyl if it turns out to in fact be asphalt.

you should never have to heat sound deadener... it breaks down the butyl-

you have to heat up vibraflex before applying it (tantric gator skin) other than that you are correct

This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned

151.6 with single 12 at 41 hz

153.2 with 2 12's at 43 hz

Beware of any sound deadening product that measures everything in Mils and comes on rolls, not sheets. Rolls usually means it is roofing material re-purposed/re-labeled for sound deadening).....only the foil should be measured in Mils.

Check out www.secondskinaudio.com for some quality 100% American made butyl rubber deadener.

Whether you are restoring a classic muscle car, building an audio system monster, or trying to give yourself a bit of silent luxury on your daily commute, we have a product or combination of products that will help you achieve your goals while saving money and save time. Look around our site, educate yourself and make the choice that is right for you.

Over built to over perform - because user error, bad batch, and faulty install are excuses that other companies use!

This^ Dont be fooled by "cheap" ebay deadner. when it takes 3-4 times the amount to achieve the same as a small amount of second skin it ends up costing more, adding weight, and taking way more time to apply

ahh i just seen it adds mass not what you want in a deadner ... look in the s.s section and use the search button plenty of topics on deadner

Adding mass is exactly what you want in a deadner.

Not at all.

Absorbing vibrations is what you want in a deadener, not just adding mass, that is a very inefficient way and doesn't even work as it just changes the peak frequency.

All that a heavy deadener does is slow down your car, doesn't aid in deadener performance.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
