Recommend me an alternator

I am looking at running a BC3500.1 at 0.5 ohms. My daily driver. Got some quotes from Singer alternators and I am having a tough time understanding the benefits of the hairpins versus 3 phase. I know the hairpins are more efficient. What would you recommend for me to get? I was thinking 275A or a 320A. I am not sure what amp I am getting yet for my door speakers yet, so I will have to allow some room for a 4 channel. Also why is the 320A hairpin style only $10 more than the 270A hairpin, but the 270A puts out more power?

3 phase styles
250A $389 160A (ideal for up to 3-4K RMS daily)
275A $429 170A (ideal for up to 4-5K RMS daily)
320A $559 180A (ideal for up to 5-6K RMS daily)
6 phase options hairpin style (high idle performance)
240A $449 160+A (smaller casing) (small case designed for high idle)
270A $569 200+A (larger casing/high idle)
320A $579 180+A (smaller casing designed more for peak output)
370A $779 200+A (larger casing/high idle)

The 270a and 320a hairpins are close because of exactly what it says... the 270a does 200 @ idle (your paying for low idle performance), and the 320a, yea you get 50a more at 2krpm, but 20a less at idle. It is basically what do you want, good idle power, or good revved power?

large case VS small... :)

I like my large case ;)

Hairpin. 'Nuff said.

The 270A is the best bang for your buck. At least in my mind, I prefer the best idle performance I can. Something about keeping my vehicle revved up higher than it needs to be bothers me.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
