SnowDrifter
I've always thought it would be interesting to have a trailer exclusively for batteries. Can't wait to see how it turns out ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
tboorn
all i picture/can think of, is how many runs of power are going to be coming and going from the trailer. gonna have to use like a 6" pvc or something to protect them all id imagine Fidelity Built to Last Team Sound Asleep 24Runner Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/196657-24runner-sleeper-system-lots-of-fi-neo-dd-focal-new-video-w-juicebox-lithium/ 2 x 12" Fi BTL N2 / 2 x 12" Fi BTL N3 2 DD M3b Maxwell 2.7V 3000F Supercapacitors Pioneer DEH-80prs Focal P165 V30 components Rockford Fosgate T-400.
MECHMAN
all i picture/can think of, is how many runs of power are going to be coming and going from the trailer. gonna have to use like a 6" pvc or something to protect them all id imagine We actually have some heat and abrasion resistant braided sleaving that will cover the cables running up the tongue of the trailer to the buss bar in the rear of the vehicle. It should turn out pretty decent. We will then have some super beefy 600 amp rated connectors that will handle two runs of 1/0 cable each. There will probably be a little voltage drop from the trailer batteries to the amplifiers, but we are really not too concerned about that. Should get plenty loud at any voltage really... MECHMAN
is that 900 amp monster alternator gonna to be going in to this? I thought years ago it would be awesome to build a demo car out of a hearse, with subs inside the coffin....this is definitely stepping it up! tuned! We will actually be using our 370 amp Elite series units, 6 of them if we can fit them. We will have one in the factory location running two S3400 12 volt batteries under the hood, and the other 5 will be run off of a secondary 10 rib serpentine belt drive stacked onto the front of the existing 6 rib drive, (assuming we can fit them) and will charge the D1400 battery bank. Not sure if we are going to use the 96-04 GM truck bolt pattern, or the CS144 bolt pattern, depends on how the brackets lay out. The crank drive pulley for the 10 rib alternator belt will be much larger in diameter so we can run larger pulleys on the alternators to eliminate belt slip as much as possible. We will also be installing a hand throttle inside the vehicle so we can bring the RPM's up. Trying to run that much alternator capacity at actual idle RPM would likely stall the engine. We'll get a lot more power this way, and it will be a lot easier to mount and fit than the 800 amp monster alternator... 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
