Fuse Holders

Recommended Posts

What's everyone's choice on fuse holders? Just the generic China fuse holder? I know they don't mean that much, just wanting to know.

I like the set screw type. preferably with removable covers. like the SHCA ones for example. I hate those round tube type ones. Too much hassle to get to the fuse.

I too don't like the round ones like Streetwires has. I favor the ring terminal ones the most because they can fit any size even bigger ones if you have the practice and tools to do so.

I dislike the round ones also. I don't like the ones you have to add a ring terminal to though either, waste of a expensive copper ring terminal. I like the ones where the bare wire goes in with set screw. They don't pull out for me and I have used a few different brands and they all seem to do well, I like them. SHCA, Droppinhertz, RF, generic, etc.

The thing to me with set screws is they are a shitty connection.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I guess compared to a cold weld yea you are right. not gonna argue there.

I think the set screw ones are still a good connection though. Just my opinion.

Have always only used set screw type ANL fuse holders for in line fusing. I wouldn't hesitate to use the cheapie plastic ones with just a couple of posts and nuts if I were running fuses off of a buss bar though.
