Leedogg
Very nice man. Reminds me of where I started with my Avy. Next you will move to a 4th order Thanks! Love your build, I've seen many vids of it...bad ass. But I have 4 Boys, so my back seats are staying. so if I do anything else down the line- it will be in the bed still. But I think this is it for this truck. Love to do a big setup in my Burb one day. 01 Suburban Z71 - 5.3L - Black - 6" Lift on 35's - Pioneer H/U - Kicker Mids, 8" Polk sub. Leedogg
This makes me smile- It settles to 14.0 at a hot idle. At one point today the factory electrical was 12.5, and my rear bank was at solid 14. I knew I had made the right decision to run a dedicated Batt bank and alt for this truck. The damn PCM varies the voltage of the truck from 12.5 to 13.6, when hot, depending on demand I guess. 01 Suburban Z71 - 5.3L - Black - 6" Lift on 35's - Pioneer H/U - Kicker Mids, 8" Polk sub. Broke_Audio_Addict
How does it hold while playing? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Leedogg
How does it hold while playing? haven't seen below 12.8. and that was on some decaf slamming. Most songs while hitting hard is about 13.2. I am the type that I hit it hard for maybe half a song...then back to sane levels.LOL but at moderate levels(still vibrating the side mirrors LOL), it barely moves off 14. I think my favorite part it that when I back the bass down a bit- the blend quite nicely. good SQ at lower volumes. 01 Suburban Z71 - 5.3L - Black - 6" Lift on 35's - Pioneer H/U - Kicker Mids, 8" Polk sub. Leedogg
Thanks guys- It isn't much compared to some of you guys. After going to Finals in Nashville last fall, and SBN this yr...I don't think mine is that great.LOL I mean it hits pretty good- and I love when my friends see it and freak out(cuz no one round here does loud). But to me I wish it was moar!LOL I also found out that I can dip the voltage as low as 11.8 on some bass boosted stuff(behind blues eyes, Downtown particularly). I don't like that. I want to clamp my alt and see what it is really putting out. I bought it from JS Ultimate alts, he said it is a 350A. I know my amp can pull more- but I was hoping it would hold better. May have to run another 350. I'd prefer it not go under 12.5, maybe I am expecting too much. Oh yeah- broke my camera last week- just got me a new on in the mail today(thurs). it'll do 720p video...gonna try to get a clip or 2 of it soon. 01 Suburban Z71 - 5.3L - Black - 6" Lift on 35's - Pioneer H/U - Kicker Mids, 8" Polk sub. Leedogg
OK- I am an idiot. Went to a friends today and was letting it pound- caught a short clip of it. Knew I was railing it a bit harder than normal, but going by ear- it sounded clean, but I am sure I was clipping it.(Hindsight) Right after I shut the camera off to back it down a bit, it made a quick electric buzz. So I tuned it down pretty low. after about 30 more second the dreaded smoke out the port. I don't hear any scrubbing when pressing on the cone, and it still plays.(though I turned the sub channel off as to not do anymore damage). I am going to put my DMM on it tomorrow and see if they ohm out correctly. Maybe I got lucky, but I doubt it. Short vid. My mids highs were dying, but the bass was clean. https://youtu.be/XBDlg2eNXQo OK I tried to embed- but it didn't work... 01 Suburban Z71 - 5.3L - Black - 6" Lift on 35's - Pioneer H/U - Kicker Mids, 8" Polk sub.
