adding 8" sealed sub for midbass

tossing around the idea of adding 8" sub in a sealed box behind the center console, kinda like an addition to the console...add cupholders to make it look like a factory addition..so first, does this idea normally work well?..im thinking like 50hz-100ish, give or take depending on how well people have done this in the past...next, what subs will work well in about .5 sealed before displacements (roughly .3-.4cu net..polyfil as needed)?..amp wil be decided on when/if i get the sub...budget is no more than $120 for the sub but thats only for a PROVEN monster in that space..ideal price would be $80-100...ive got my eye on a rockford p2 or the yardsale sd8 or e8...amp would probably be, as of now, ppi ion 450.1 due to size and specs

also, how would i go about the rcas?..could i just use the front channel rcas to the amp?..the headunit has 3 sets of inputs..one set goes to the sub amp (hd8k), other goes to rca block and the other is empty for now

Why would you use a driver for one octave? Also, sound is directional above around 80Hz for most people.

Cross them where a midbass should be crossed and put them in a better location.

its the only location i have available..i understand the octave argument, which is why i never did it before..but ive seen people use 8s as midbass before and it has me interested..its just an idea, but thats the only location available if i did it..im open to recomendations

You usually have 2 midbass's, not one

what do you have for mids and highs now? You could possibly get better results by doing some work on how those are installed than by trying to get midbass out of a single speaker...

no desire to change anything in the doors...16 prv mb200-4 6.5s..was just tossing around the idea back there..if it wont work well, i wont do it..lol
