JP-12 Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 For some reason even with the AC on in the house, my room just get way too hot, 3 fans, portable air cooler and window open or closed its still far too uncomfortable for me to get a good sleep without waking up hot as shit and pissed off in the middle of the night lol. And it's really not a big bedroom at all. Last year I went out and bought a portable air cooler hoping that would help, brand is sunpentown I think, but it sucks ass. I would love to just use one of the AC units you hang out the window but my window is right on the walkway up to the front door so that would be pretty ugly to have it there. Any of you own one that you know works well? I'm sick of sweating my ass of while sleeping! Lol Any suggestions appreciated!!
boom50cal Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 had one in our 5th wheel back when I was little. Ran off a standard 15a 120v plugin. 26ft 5thwheel, it made that thing FRIGID inside. I had to use a portable unit once when the central air took a shit and a portable unit managed to cool down a 24x16 bedroom. does yours have a a drain and are you draining it so it stays running? Also try getting a unit that has an exhaust that goes to window or else the condenser is just letting all that heat from the coils right back into room and defeats the purpose. hope this helps. One that's too big will actually not cool as well as one that is properly sized. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

The bookstore at my uni has no AC, all they have in there is a little window unit running and that place is usually freezing cold. It's a fairly large room as well. And the trailer my step father rents out to people only has 1 window unit in the front of the house and it cools that entire trailer even in the summertime.
