LsChevy Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Posted August 11, 2015 Are those beymas considered mid range or mid bass?
Carnines Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 Most people tend to reccomend 18 sound or B&C for midbass drivers. You can also run some eric stevens horns for your highs instead of tweets [email protected]
dolarbilz Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 You can get jl zr8" too if you want a dedicated midbass I would
LsChevy Posted August 12, 2015 Author Report Posted August 12, 2015 How much does a good set of horns go for? I never heard anything negative about them
LsChevy Posted August 13, 2015 Author Report Posted August 13, 2015 Are horns a significant advantage over tweeters? Just curious..I don't see to many people running them
Carnines Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Horns are extremely sensitive and loud and can be placed under dash. With proper tuning they sound great. Eric Stevens sells a pro version for $300 and the ultras for $425. Ultras take a bit more power and are more sensitive but the pro versions are still extremely loud. He holds the patent for the image dynamic horns but he left the company so they are called eric stevens horns. Here's a demo
gckless Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Distance tests are stupid. Stop it. Eminence, Celestion, Peavey, Electro-Voice, JBL, among others, are the big boys of PA driver companies. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. White Lightning Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 I've only ever heard of 2 cars successful with them, and they were extreme sound quality vehicles with massive equalizer setups. Others I heard had potential ... but played them so loud I couldn't enjoy them. Skullz Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Horns while they can sound amazing, take up quite a bit of space just under your dash and can look out of place and unsightly for many, which is why most tend to go with silk dome tweeters which have a greater range of placement possibilities for imaging. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
LsChevy Posted August 13, 2015 Author Report Posted August 13, 2015 I guess super tweeters have no place in car audio
