reedal Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Presuming you're talking about the alt to under the hood batt connection, and not a long run to the amp(s), then I agree with hdorre. Just a run of 1/0 from alt to batt, no fuse is what I do. The odds of you creating enough current to damage that short of a run is it won't happen. MrSkippyJ Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Snafu would disagree with both of you about fusing the Alt to battery wire. F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
reedal Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Yes he would. As do many others. I personally don't feel that it is necessary. MrSkippyJ Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 I'm just not a fan of having live wires without fuses. F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
hoit Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 ^I agree. Unlikely, but possible. I'd rather have fuses than fire extinguisher. aps01 Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 you can run 2 runs of 0/1 awg wire and use 300 amp fuses on them so problem solved! Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
