meade916 Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 Not many amps this old can still look as good as a SOUNDSTREAM amp of that era. But were they putting out claimed power? Check out this Soundstream D100. Rated 50x2 (2ohms) and 120 RMS Mono. I am currently working on the video. I will edit THIS post and drop the video here when i am finished in about an hour or so. In the mean time, any guesses on power output? I think they were rated at 12v but as usual, they are on the 14.5v bank which has a nice resting voltage of 14.8 - 15v. It is actually at 14.9v and has no charger on it whatsoever. Just the bank. I only brought it down to 14.6v or so during testing so you know i was able to give this amp WAY more than the benefit of the doubt as far as input voltage. One thing, the amp calls for a 6ga wire but really i had a hard time getting 8ga wires on it. The terminals are a BITCH with the flathead, front facing screws. Now i see why they went with the D100ii (new terminals) lol. Anyhow, i have not time to put together any prizes but i am curious to see your guesses. This is my all time favorite shit! It's all i used to run for a good chunk of the early and mid 90's. I did run some RF too. I couldn't afford much, i could only run what i could get my hands on to be honest haha! But i did have a Soundstream fetish for sure. I was devastated when they sold out and moved from Folsom CA (Local) to some other location in a land far far away. 1 All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
