SLYentist
I have two alts on my 4 banger and it's SLOW at full tilt. just saying. Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
Tarball
With my 2.2l second alt full tilt stalls the engine. Engineered a bracket with some trial and error. Deleted AC to make room. Heat shielded stuff. It adds up quick. I would do it again but if you aren't the hands on mechanical type stick with a good single H.O. in the stock location. arcaudioman
I'm a union ironworker, I put up skyscrapers for a living. I'm pretty sure I could handle the bracket. But I think I'll try to bypass the eld then do single if that works out
Kyblack76
Cutting a bracket is easy. Milled mine out. Getting it to all work, and work for 60k miles is the bitcheapest Again your over dorking this. diegoclass2010
i also say you should be fine with an ho alt, no need for two.. just make sure all you connections are fine and try to find a way to bypass the charging system i run dual alt set up.. 270 & 370 amp's in chevy malibu 3.5L 6 cylinder... when the bass hits you will definitely feel when the alts are spinning and drag the motor down. on a 25 mile speed limit driving around on 2,000 rpms i drop between 1000-1500 rpms depends on the draw. i really have to be around 2500-3000 rpms going full tilt on radio to keep it steady

magillaru
Like others have said, you don't need dual alts. Waste of time and money. Get an alt from reputable company (there are only two out there I would give my money to), get an agm batt that fits your stock size under the hood and toss a group 31 size batt in the trunk, and you will be more than fine. If youre having problems with the ecm, you can bypass that if you really wanted to but not really needed with what you're running. If you want good idle voltage and idle low, don't be fooled by "get the biggest alt you can fit". arcaudioman
I was thinking a 250 other 270 Amp alternator. With the eld bypass... I only wanted to do dual because I got the second alt for 40 bucks. Which is way better that 500. I also figured it was easier than bypassing the stupid eld
