d-nice88 Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 Wana get another bat for my setup. The audio legion 3500 will be here on the 24th so i want to get another agm batt. I just dont know if i need another xs d3400 or can i just get a duralast platinum battery and put the xs d3400 under the hood and put it in the back with the other d3400. Ive always kept the batts charged up with a ctek 7002. What do you guys think ?
audiofanaticz Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 As long as all the batteries are agm it wont matter much. Me personally would want to continue getting the same brand battery as I already have so its all looking the same.
d-nice88 Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Posted February 22, 2016 Should i be fine with a duralast platinum batt? I wanna make sure i have plenty of power for that amp. I also have a mechman 250 alt as well
ShadeTreeMechanic Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 Ideally the same AH rating should be used. I have seen people put tiny batteries in the back and they seem to do something. The XS AH rating might be measured different than the Duralast AH rating I don't know. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

I also have a mechman 250 alt as well like audiofanaticz said... as long as they are both agm... you cant use a conventional lead acid with an agm battery they do not charge at the same rated and such... one of the batterys will fail in someway or another
d-nice88 Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Posted February 22, 2016 The duralast platinun is agm. Just dont know if it will be good enough for that audio legion amp. 1 duralast platinum agm bat and 2 xsd3400 batts or will i HAVE to go with 3 xsd3400
reedal Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 you can get the duralast, but I would suggest that instead of putting the duralast in the rear with the other XS, put both XS batts in the rear for prettiness, and have the duralast under the hood. Just me. I had a duralast AGM under the hood and an XS in the rear when I had my explorer. Mixing AGM brands shouldn't cause an issue.
