bsneon98
There are too many variables to determine what is the issue. Not to mention its likely a combination of manyIt would probably be better and easier to start from scratch at this point. If you want to do it yourself the right way, I can suggest investing in some basic tools. Skullz
It was a ported enclosure... I'm pretty sure they were getting 3 cu ft at the minimum Your making assumptions, and it cost you a pair of subs and if you continue to make assumptions you'll lose even more. You cannot guess at things in this hobby, you have to know for certain or very bad things will happen, including having your vehicle go up in flames. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
Mariothadon
If you don't even know the enclosure spec's how did you know those subs would perform properly in that enclosure? It was a ported enclosure... I'm pretty sure they were getting 3 cu ft at the minimum The enclosure in a setup is one of the most important things for getting the sound you want. If the enclosure wasnt right then when the subs were working hard it mite have not been loud and caused you turn things up to much and messed the subs up . . . The enclosure is really important That's a real good point !!
Joe X
How many times are people going to have to ask about the enclosure specs? And what brand alt? Krakin
Don't worry Joe, box specs aren't important at alllllllllll. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
