Alternator not putting out full voltage at idle

So as the title says I have a Mechman 370 and for some reason it isn't putting out full voltage at idle, is this normal? At 1000 rpm my rear voltage is right around 14v, but at idle (600 rpm), it drops down to 12 - 12.3v. At first I thought it was voltage loss through the wire to the back so I put a meter on the front batt and it only read about .3v higher than the #s I just listed. Any advice on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

the larger the alternator (generally) the less they make at idle.

what does your car idle at? if its too low the alt may not be making enough to even cover what your car needs.

Also sometimes a bad batt can cause idle to have a lower voltage than normal

I believe the 370 is set at 700-800rpm. 600 seems a little low.

I see 14.8v around 750rpm on mine

The 370 has a smaller pulley to help Idle

Thats why i asked if batt was possibly bad... just guessing at this point. i'd work my way from batts to wiriring to the last thing being the alt. Start with the simple problems and work to the complex.

Same here, my 320A I was told has a turn on speed of about 7-800, I idle at about 750 as well so I never see an issue other than if the RVC(aka PCM) is active.

it drops down to 12 - 12.3v seems really low. Definately checking the battery is a good idea

I've been thinking that maybe my front battery may be pretty weak. If so and i have everything in the back run through it would that be the problem? Also I have 2 runs of 1/0 and a run of 4 guage going to the back, is that enough for 2 5k amps?

1/0 CCA should be 3runs front to back

1/0 OFC can be 2 runs

What is the 4g for ???????

How many batteries in the back?

Is the Big 3 done ?
