audiofanaticz Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 I honestly wouldnt trust a business build anything of mine when they say we use generic software...The way I see it is if they are cutting corners using utter crap design programs then they are also most likely cutting other corners too! Especially when there are quality programs that are free to use like WinISD, HornResp, BoxNotes, and BassBoxPro6 if your good at googling.

BMS Posted November 13, 2016 Author Report Posted November 13, 2016 Yeah exactly correct but it isn't exactly the same xmax has a bl correction usually a factor of 70% at least that is my understanding. I line in the Sarasota Bradenton area of florida. it is a grand am and 2 pierce audio products 12'' 2k subs with some modification they have an extra stack of ferrite and and 8 layer coil I believe the 4 is standard. on a ct sounds 7k. i don't really know if i want to go with a ported 4th order or 6th (if i can fit it) maybe if i remove the back seat. of course id love to play around with my own design 8th orders or something like with 6 chambers just something way different to see how it works but i don't have the space time or money to do that.

BMS Posted November 13, 2016 Author Report Posted November 13, 2016 yeah remove the back seat put the amps in the trunk and the box takes up the back maybe. id rather design a ported box with an easily adjustable port (meant to be adjusted as often as daily) to change my tuning that would be amazing I just haven't figured out how to do it yet but i haven't put much thought into it yet.

I think it should be in the back or front only with the exception of being walled off but i was thinking i could find a way around it like sealing off the trunk and firing into the back window. assuming it may stay in one piece.
BMS Posted November 13, 2016 Author Report Posted November 13, 2016 This is my typical go to in my builds it to fire into the farthest back spot (usually the back of the trunk) assuming that alot of the acoustic energy is not being lost through the material such as a thin trunk with large flat surfaces ect. in my experience it is typically louder this way like how a horn directs sound the trunk can work similarly to not allow the energy to escape into unwanted areas. if the bix is placed in the center of the vehical i could see that half he energy fills the front and the other half the back but creates sort of two different spaces where the energies don't work with eachother. at least that is just a theory.
