Mitchaford Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 Just hear me out guys The American penny, pre-1982 made up of 95% or so of copper. Post 1982 change s to 2.5% copper. BUT if the penny goes out of circulation and the smelting of currency becomes legal, copper wire is about to be $.90 a foot. Hope I live to 2025 because that's when it'll happen, at least that's when I see it as a possibility. So if anyone's waiting to do a big build just wait until then and save some money 2008 VW Jetta Team Fi 12 CT 4000.1 CT 125.4 PWX 6.5 80 PRS EB Flex 2/0 Second Skin ^^^ Build ^^^

ShadeTreeMechanic Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 I saw a documentary on the penny one time. The break even point due to copper prices and inflation was 1982. When it cost a penny to make a penny. Now the cost to make a penny is over $1.80 due mostly to inflation and rising costs to mint. Canada gave up their penny a long time ago. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

It cost more like 2 cents to make a penny, not $2. Yes op, we should wait 9 years to do a build because wire will be cheaper, lol. Wire is like one of the cheapest parts of a large build. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

DLHgn Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 I would never complain about something dropping in price so long as it doesn't drop in quality
ShadeTreeMechanic Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/penny-environmental-disaster-180959032/ It costs more than 2 cents to make a penny. They are crazy stupid expensive. Edit: my bad. It must have been 1.8 cents, not a dollar eighty. lol 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
