Even though its 7.5 cm thick there's not that much surface area. The front brace i made before is welded on a steel plate thats a about 4 mm thick. Because im afraid that isnt going to give much strength decided to make a stronger brace When the rear brace is on a 90 degree angle on the rear panel the bar comes further forward then expected. Because of that the angle of the front brace is the the steep imo. Im afraid it will take away a lot of the strenght this way. Thought of the following options, what do you guys think the best one is? Pro: There are only bars in the middle so there is technically speaking less obstruction? Con: The rear brace is connected to the front braced so its being pulled not only up and down but also back and forward. The rear brace was only meant to support and give strenght to the port and top panel. Pro: Rear brace is only there for strenght between port and bottom. Con: Extra bars in the box that might influence airflow? Or maybe im overthinking it and both ways are just fine Do you guys have any tips and/or suggestions? WalledSonic
I think you should do #2 (two separate braces) but include the cross-brace on both supports like in #1. Best of both worlds! ShadeTreeMechanic
Triangulate to the adjacent side would be the strongest. Two separate braces with a cross brace between the two would be as good as it gets. Imho. Awesome work! I love your box building and fabrication skills.
