Or is it just the full blown center pole against the wall that I see from time to time. I ask because this is the second time I'd be reconing this particular sub and ive noticed that there is coil rub on the same spot. Do you shim it when doing it? or just glue er down? Its not hard to tell if a stack has moved. Show pics down the pole, and the motor please. I'm sure my recone skills are shit, but i get better everytime and this would be number 8-ish? I shim, I have a big stack of shims from SQ. They ship 5-6 of the two sizes. They work great. None of the stacks have moved. They are all aligned. Its the center pole im worried about. I mean thats gotta be impossible to tell. Sticking steel feeler gauges in a huge magnet could be interesting, I'm sure it will still work though. We check air gap on industrial electric motors at work all the time.
