No offense but if you don't know how to do it, why wouldn't you pay a shop to do it for you? That's why they are around.

Hello, I need to do the Big 111 on a 2007 Chevy Cobalt, me and slim8605 popped the hood one day and the alternator is really hard to reach, looks like we have to take out a bunch of shit. Does any1 have any experience with doing the big 111 on a cobalt and lives around illinois? my zip code is 60404. The worse case Scenario is that I pay a shop to do it, but how much would they charge me? I'm available monday and tuesdays if some one wants to make the drive and help us out i'd appreciate it. I got a whole roll of 0 gauge wire and was going to buy a used Kinetic 2400.

I don't really know anything about the cobalt alt location but maybe I should take a pic of my alt location (91 Mercury Capri) and you tell me its that easy....I'm mechanically inclined but there are just some places my hands and arms won't go with removal of engine parts.....

Moral of my rant is you haven't seen his car or worked on it so shut up.....it may not be as easy as you say....

yes, i'm aware of how easy it is, but to do it is another story, because even if I get under the car, it's not gonna allow me to do anything with the way it's built, the best way to do it is to pop the hood, and remove some parts, get to the alternator, put the wire in, drill a hole, run it thru the petals and to the trunk don't know why everyone is giving me such a hard time because i've never done it before.

should I take pictures of my engine and the placement of the alternator, plus underneath the car?

to shut everyone up.
