sealing off my trunk - PICS!! (UPDATED 1/15: COMPLETED)

Well, I finally decided to get off my ass and finish up sealing off my trunk…I have had this setup in for like 9 months and have been doing some serious procrastinating. This is also gonna be my first shot at fiberglassing anything…so here we go

A couple of before shots…

I started off by making a floor out of mdf…I didn’t feel like buying more wood so that is why I screwed two scrap pieces together…

Trying to get the shape of the corners…

im using wooden dowel rods for the general shape, then glassing over them…

like I said, im am obviously going to have to do some major body work this weekend…but they are getting carpeted over, so it doesn’t have to be perfect..thank god..lol

I also to add 2-10”neons I had laying around and move my bass knob

I am gonna redo this though. I don’t know what I was thinking but I should have made that panel the whole length of the consol part…but u get the general idea

well this is my first ever system, i have had it for a couple of years and have had this box for like 9 months. probably gonna be this way until i get out of college next year and starting making real money and saving for a sweet setup and build...

Way to get ur hands dirty...or ur gloves at least.

You gotta dive right in there and learn from exp when it comes to custom projects and building from scratch. Gotta fig out what parts you do well and where you need improvement so you can work on that and get better each time you do it. Looks like you're on the right track there, and this might turn out just as u imagined. If not, there's always next time, look at how Steve rebuilt the civic. Although more out of necessity in his case, if you don't like it, just scrap it and make it right. My current setup took me 2 tries on the amp rack, and I tweak it very now and then as I figure out what else I'm capable of, so just keep at it.

Nice work for a first attempt so far, the finishing/carpet/vinyl is where it's trickiest some times so lets see whatcha got. :watsup:
