What would turning off the bass boost do? Newbie here <------

Looks like I'm going back to exchange these subs for some dual 4 ohm subs and I'll be throwing my other bd 1000.1 to the mix, Hopefully

2 Bd 1000.1's will suffice the appetite of these L7's.

1996 Impala, just a weekend toy Molesting the wicked streets of chitown (next in line for sounds)

2006 Corolla...current audio head ache and money pit

Alpine cda 9881 head unit

pioneer 6x9's

Hiphonics 6.5 components

power acustik tweeters

Not installed but in the to install list:

Hifonics Brutus BXI 2080D 2600 watts rms

2 12" Kicker L7's Dual 4 ohm subs wired at 2 ohms each = 1 ohm load

0 gauge wire, MLA module

bassboost just "boosts the bass" basically, but in return it clips (distorts) the shit out of the signal and then your subs sound like complete ass and will blow alot faster.

i dont even know why they include the bassboost feature, the old school amps never had bassboost and they did fine w/o them. now sundown's new amps got rid of that bassboost feature since (i forgot his name) hates it.

You were right, the amp was way too small for the subs, now with just one amp on each speaker, they sound great! Now I'm going through the pain of redoing everything. 0 gauge wiring, 300 amp fuse, 2 optima batteries, 2 bass knobs, 2 bd 1000.1 amps, 12 gauge speaker wire, bigger better box, h.o alternator :spiteful:

Lesson learned about L7's....they need power and space :clapping:

Please tell me this was on the AC meter, or in the kick. Cause I know you didn't do a 163 on the dash on the new TL crx or not. But please correct me if I'm wrong with some proof. Otherwise I call :bsflag:
