snafu
For those of you that know me, you know that electrical systems are something of a passion for me. In December of 2007, I entered into contract with CarTech Books to write a book on the topic of automotive wiring. For most gear-heads, the process of "wiring" is their least favorite - I think in large part because of a perception that it is difficult. For this reason, this book is unlike any other title currently available - I've written it so that even the most complex of topics are simple to comprehend. This is a snapshot of what you'll find between the covers: Basic DC Electronics How to correctly use the tools of the trade - test light - computer safe test light - digital multi meter (15 PLUS pages, with step by step instructions) Automotive Wiring Basics - basic connections - how to properly crimp - hot to solder both small and large AWG cable Basic Automotive Electronics - relays - the basics, unlocking the mystery, the different kinds (the most comprehensive explanation of relays that I know of) Advanced Automotive Electronics - door lock circuits - in depth - power window circuits - in depth - the charging system - in depth - upgrading the charging system - in depth Troubleshooting - from A to Z with numerous step by step examples Advanced Interfaces - interfacing with power door lock & power window circuits - upgrading headlights - adding an auxiliary battery (look for the pics from SMD members!) Wiring harness basics - building a harness from scratch Again, this is only a snap-shot. The book is 140 plus pages and contains numerous STEP BY STEP examples, over 350 full color photos, diagrams, legends, and flowcharts. After proofing the last copy for layout accuracy, I am confident that this book will also prove to be an excellent reference for the car audio enthusiast, professional installer, store owner, etc. The title of this book is Automotive Wiring and Electrical Systems and it will be in bookstores near you this March! Click on the title to go to CarTech's website and read more. If you'd like to pre-order your copy, it's already available on Amazon.com and all the major book-reseller websites. Thanks to the many of you that encouraged and helped me with this enormous project! Tony Candela - SMD Sales & Marketing Email me at [email protected] to learn about becoming an SMD Partner! Forevrbumpn
Looks like a great book, I will definitely buy one I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. ISO
Cool Tony, that will make for some good reading material. I think I'll order a copy next time I'm in town. Congrats Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one.
