MB Quart tweeters come with metal brackets that will not work in my home made fiberglass door pods. Would a hot glue gun do the trick? Torres Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 i use a 2 part epoxy that comes in a lil tube for small things like that. i used it to make the frame for my volt meter in my console yesterday. stuff holds pretty well

I was worried that glue or epoxy would not adhere to the carpet around the tweeter hole. The tweeter cup sits on the carpeted pod and into the cutout. MB Quart tweeters only come with some small metal brakets that will not work with my pods, so I just want to glue or epoxy the tweeter cup into the carpeted hole in the pod, then snake the wire through and snap the tweeter into the cup. Sorry if I wasn't clear, it was confusing for me, too! I will pick up some epoxy at Lowes this weekend and "git er done"! I use it to glue dust caps back on woofers and just recently used it to reglue the spiders back down to the basket on a sub. The Performer Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Oh hell yeah man, if that's all any good epoxy will do the trick. A suggestion though, trim that carpet to the exact edge of the hole. In the pic it looks like the carpet folds over into the hole a bit, what I'm saying is I would trim that off so that you have the edge for the epoxy to bond to. Since you can get to the back of the panels as well it looks like, just put a bead of epoxy around the back as well, that'll hold it more than enough. CERTIFIED BITCHES!!!
