Harbor Freight Tools...better Than The Rest?

Recommended Posts

As of late, I have been very disapointed with the quality of the tools made by the "brand name" companies. I decided to try the cheap tools that Harbor Freight offers. I never though that I would say that my tools are from Harbor Freight, but, I can honestly say that I have had much, much better results with their tools.

They are much cheaper than any of the "brand name" tools and hold up much better as far as my experience with them goes & the extended service protection is dirt cheap and if the tools ever crap out on you, bring it to the store and get a brand new unit no questions asked.

As the "brand name" tools that I have slowly die on me, I am replacing them with the tools from Harbor.

Plus, they have alot of odd-ball stuff that nobody else seems to carry!

Anyone had experience with Harbors tools?

Their ok, but I wouldn't go that far!

Ok, within reason I guess. I don't think I would get rid of my Lincoln welder or Hypertherm plasma cutter any time soon or at all to be honest, but for regular electric hand tools, drills, saws, sanders etc etc.... :unknw::unknw:

Had issues with both Makita & Bosch.

As far as Snap-on goes....I used to work for Snap-on in the pneumatic tools plant up here in MA doing the CNC machine work for them. Seeing some of the things that the let go out the door was somewhat concerning to me. Even with the 80% employee discount, or whatever it was 4 years ago, I still didn't buy any tools from them. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/01nocomment8so.gif

James said it with the Pittsburgh stuff, they are pretty good

but.........

Stay away from the ORANGE products!

1 other thing I will admit, I bought a $29 jigsaw there about 5-6years ago, which they still sell i believe, and its working like a champ, when my $70 Craftsman jigsaw, with all the lasers, ultra bright LEDs, and very nice build, couldn't cut a straight line any more after only 4 months of use, and has been just lacking in performance before that happened

Sad.....

But I love my Harbor Freight jigsaw

lol

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
