A couple years back here a 13 year old kid was messing with some fireworks and blew himself up in the woods. guess what fell out of a tree onto someones head...actually, it really only is a guess, we dunno what part of the body it was...yikes.... He said, "Dad i think i saw a dead body at this crazy car accident we just passed". The wife was like, "we dont know if he was dead or not"....he was like, "no i saw his boots and he was laying on his side not moving like a dead guy". Well i went back to painting since im remodeling my living room and then it pops up on the news. DAMN! he was right! This is right around the corner from Burrito's house too (well both ours but closer to him then me). He will be OK, just make sure and answer all of his questions as honestly as you can and what ever you do... do not lie about any of it. This is a "shaping" experience and can actually broaden his understanding of the way things work and give him a sense of his own mortality. Too many teens think they are never going to die and an experience like this can put them in a position of understanding that keeps them from making dumb and dangerous mistakes because they see how fast it can all end.
