jmanjr82
I went from FI BLs to HD3 woofers and I noticed it had a different sound totally. I ditched the FI BLs because they didnt handle the power well at lower Freqs they got hot ( No I didnt clip them) I had everything set up right. I changed the tuning from 34hz to 40hz and the hd3s were louder off the same power via termlab testing. Its up to the person you cant predict whats gonna work for you vs someone else. RD works best for me, its been the loudest in both my vehicles so thats what I run.
kirill007
Kind of normal if you tune the box higher and get other ( almost the same) subs that it hits harder. ChiTownTBird312
There is a big difference between those two box timing frequencies... Which is probably why they are louder. Got any before and after scores? Quote Matt W. 1996 Thunderbird LX Sport 4.6 new system soon...still deciding on what to get.
wL<3bass
Well I have some Fi BL they get pretty loud and to be honest the 1500+ wrms I'm giving mine isn't even close to what they can handle IMO. Aaron813
Woow woow there is alot of misinformation the AQ subs will take 3000 daily rms with the copper coils with the aluminum coils they will take even more. Ive been running AQ for a while now and never had a problem I give each of my subs 3000 daily they are HDC3 15s and that is with copper coils they have never had any problems taking that power and that has been for over 4 months now I do also have the HDC3 15s with aluminum coils and they can take even more power. So kicker guys were do you have any experience running AQ?

Basshead08
I would guess that my hdc3 15 copper is getting somewhere around 1800 - 2000 rms off my aq 1200.1 at .5 ohm. It is in a 4 cube box tuned to 38 and takes the power all day and just laughs at it. Damn loud also. From what I've heard from many people that have experience with both is btl>hc3>bl Quote System tear out has begun...Out with the old i have a iq of 128 i graduated at the top of my class tell me how im reatrded you are the 1 thats dumb as hell you can't even spell Look at the underlined text hahahahahahahaha I think of it as the virgin losing the virginity technique not just jumping in to it, and pounding away, but going at it slowly over time, to get to that full extreme

korey_hofer
wow I can tell alot of you have never touched an aq sub before. I have ran 5,000 rms to my 12" dual 1 ohm aq hd3c aluminum coil sub and didn't have any problems 2ft tuned to 34hz (sounded way better than the 2.5 at 40hz aq recommends) power was from a digital designs z1 at .5ohm only time I had troubles was on tones then it would max out suspension wise but didn't get that hot I have no doubt in my mind the hd3c would get louder than the btl off the same power mine started to get loud off of 1000 watts Quote previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme.
