Berto
ya..well in that case, does anyone know the details on painting the tail lights like that hoe? that is the exact look im going for...blacked out like the body. A buddy of mine did my car's lights (the Grand Prix) and IIRC I think he said he did: Clear Black Clear Black Clear Black Clear Black Clear Or something like that, but I'm not sure, I wasn't there with him. But I remember saying something about 4 layers of black. Quote TEAM FLEX ISSUES Car: 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royal 24" Rims HU: 7" Carputer, Planet Audio EQ, iPhone. The Performer
Don't use paint, use the VHT nightshade, it's made to be translucent. Quote CERTIFIED BITCHES!!! Berto
Isnt it Illegal to black out your taillights on the street??If im wrong i apologize but i think it is. I guess you can say it is but it isn't. I say this because as you can see in the pic of the Pontiac, I had all 4 of my lights blacked out, and I had them like that for about a year, and I drive as much as I can so cops are bound to see me and they did, a lot. But I never got pulled over, til one day a cop decided to be a dick because he though I laughed AT HIM and he pulled me over, but it wasn't originally cuz of that, it was cuz of my system. But at the end of all that I got the ticket for my system and ONLY my head lights. So I guess it just depends on the cops around you and if they want to enforce that law. Thewes
I did it about 2 years ago on my escalade. Used VHT Niteshades, came out decent for not wet sanding or actually using a paint booth, but I would never do it again. I went a little over board, but eh it lasted and didnt look too bad. My opinion: do both. The reason you have a third brake light is to give another dimension. Basically, its easier to see a triangle expanding as it gets closer (when the car in front of you is slowing down) than it is to see a line getting bigger. I'm not explaining this well, but when I read it it made sense. Since you'll be getting rid of at the very least, the two tail lights, I'd want as much visibility as possible, especially for night/bad weather driving.
