Remote start season really brings out the nut jobs

With the recent cold weather up here in Michigan we are getting an early start on remote starts.

Any other installers notice that remote start season really brings the nut jobs out of the closet?

I did a remote start on an 09 Yaris today for a lady. First off she insisted the car was a Hyundai... no matter how many times the salesman said toyota. She even crossed of toyota on the work order when she signed it and wrote Hyundai.

Next after I got the remote start done she came back about 45minutes bitching up a storm, "You guys made my steering wheel all loose and wobbly!". Well I'll give you guys one guess what was wrong... Yes the steering wheel lock was not engaged.

So after the salesman locks the steering wheel for her, she insist that we pay her gas money for her 10minute drive to the store! Demanded to talk to a manager and when he refused she said she was calling the owners.

Ohh boy... it's going to be a long winter! Anyone else came across these one of a kind customers?

All the time... customers like those and management are the only things I don't miss about installing at best buy...... Hopefully when i get back up to NY I can find a nice custom shop to work in.....

Oh boy I hate those type of people. It seems they just want to complain for any reason to get money out of your wallet.

I used to work at Circuit City many years ago and ran into this all the time.

One lady came in and said she had a Chevy Blazer for an install. I went outside and there was no Blazer. I asked her for her keys and where she parked.

Well there was a Ford Explorer parked where she said and she handed me Ford keys.

I asked her if she meant Ford Explorer and she said no, its a Blazer.

I told her there was no Blazer outside, and asked if she can come out and show me.She went right out to the Explorer.

I told her it was a Ford and she argued and said no it wasnt because she bought it at the Chevy dealership.

Include what kind of alarm, what kind of car, a regular key or a big plastic key with a rf chip, etc...

I just got done talking with an over the road trucker who's secretary has been blowing up my phone for the last 2 weeks saying i should call him about his 2way starter not working. first i told him to see if the 2nd remote was working or not, his reply was " i'm driving over the road right now but i'll call you late saturday night when i get back into to town." I told him to call me during normal business hours, cause thats when the store will be open." well he calls me with his second remote but his truck is nowhere to be found, sooooo, i tell him to call me when he has his truck and remotes all in the same place. His secretary keeps blowing up my phone saying i need to travel 2 hours to where they live to fix it, yet they can't even get open the door and point the 2nd remote at the truck to see if it works. I finally get a call from the guy and he says the remote just has a picture of a car on it........turns out he thought that he didn't have to change the batteries on his 2 way remote with vibration and buzzing because he never changed the batteries on his factory car remote.

Another time i had a lady walk into my store going over her shopping list for the holidays. She had a bright idea that someone should make a device to record what you say so you don't forget things. I said "they already make them, they are down to under $20 dollars now, you can probably go to Walmart and get one right now". Her reply was "yeah, somebody should really start making those".

gotta love uneducated angry people. I'm lovin florida and all the vitamin d i'm gettin down here at school lol, but i'd take michigan cops over florida cops anyday. Now what i really hate are the local shops back home - for instance my buddy went to get a ipod cable for his pioneer hu, and when he asked the sales guy he replied with, "we only sell quality products here like mtx kenwood and SONY"
