lolitskasey
So my girl friends car has 4x6 front speakers and i was looking online for some new mids and highs for her car cause i plan on throwing my FI BL 15 in his Grand am. But anyway i was looking around and there is no 4x6 components. So should i just get the normal 4x6 cause i really wanted to get her some good components. Thanks, Kasey
X2.H10.V4
I would suggest making an MDF adapter and running 6.5's or they sell a nice MDF 4x6 to 6.5 adapter on ebay for Cavalier, Sunfire, Malibu, Gram Am, Alero and etc. Edited October 18, 2009 by X2.H10.V4

CaptainzPlanetz
Im scrapping my 4x6's in my Grand Am and going with a set of 6.5" ID components. I would suggest either going with a set of 5.25/6.5 components, IMO they sound much better than the odd shaped speakers. Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ I bet you would not be able to tell the difference between sizes in a double blind test. Most people go with the notion that round speakers sound the best and odd shaped speakers sound bad. As usual most people have no clue about what they are talking about and have never picked up an acoustics book in their life. Odd shaped cones when designed correctly will actually have less modal resonance compared to a standard round speaker. To the OP : fit the largest size driver you can in the stock location, make some trim rings and dont be afraid to start cutting some metal! Quote Too Much Stuff to list .
