Tas
Hey guys , which one do you think is a better SQ sub between the JL W7 and the FI Q? dugee81
the W7 is known for SQ, but im sure the FI Q wouldnt have a problem keeping up, considering it is in its proper enclosure. plus you could get a Q 15", as opposed to the largest JL has to offer (13.5") 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm
AI James
w7 imo has the low lows on the Q but the Q is louder and better on the upper end
pk222
Also for the fact of price comparison alone I would pick the fi q. I haven't heard the fi q in person but I had a w7 although it wasn't on the right amp I was not happy with it at all in an enclosure ported to jl's specs. It was only a 10 but I figured on around 900 rms it would be at least decent. I've heard if you run jl you have to run all jl components to make it sound right which makes sense considering the w7's run at 3 ohms and the jl amps are the only amps that run the same power on 1 2 and 3 ohm's that I know of. My experience with jl was extremely overpriced crap but that could be because I wasn't running all jl equipment.

I think my 15" BLs far from SQ subs sound as good if not better than the 10w7 I have in a HO Wedge.... The 15" BLs did better on the upper end, double bass, and murdered on the lows. All in the enclosure and I would take a Fi Q over a w7 anyday.
