(the red wires were there, I'm thinking they are for windows or locks. or both...) here they are going into the kick panel from the back... going into the kick to the boot... coming through the boot into the door... side panels started... first the outside piece... router out the center for the plexi to fit into and trim it (this is 3/4" birch with 1" plexi sandwiched between) router work can get dusty... plexi was test fit... next the center layer that also supports the plexi... then the final layer was added... thick and solid as a brick... side panels in and back corners are started...
Ric Thornton Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 back panels getting secured. they are all double layer and 2x4 backed for extra strength... fiberglass fill all the countersunk screw holes... fiberglass reinforced body filler is some stroooong stuff... almost like concrete when its fully cured. This was added to the corners on the back wall, giving it extra strength, as well as helping to round the inside corners... next is a lot of sanding, then some finish body filler, magic mix, then...
