Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. cc_audio Posted June 16, 2010 Report Share Posted June 16, 2010 If I had to guess, I would say soft parts failed and the coil just sat in the gap unblown, probably wedged somehow and just started sucking up wattage. Since nothing was moving to keep it cool, the coils just turned the wattage into some ridiculous heat.
