New 800 hp Engine going in the mustang

Recommended Posts

Well, I've already done a build log on the Incriminator 21" DP install, so I though I would post one up of the engine build for a change.

The new motor is going to be a 383 cubic inch Windsor based engine with a MASSIVE turbo. The old motor almost broke the 700 hp mark, but a lifter failure ruined the cam and a couple other parts. The new HP goal will be 800+ horsepower at 25 pounds of boost. For those of you who don't know, this car is street driven, and also does 150 db+ @ 30 hz. If MECA would ever get it together to hold another Boom and Zoom event, I'm pretty sure it would set a world record for ET + SPL score. Anyhow- enjoy!!

Here's a vid of it with the Old setup:

It is an S400 series, but it will be getting the new billet race cover from bulls eye performance. It will flow a little more air at higher rpms, and should support close to 1000 hp. (not that I will be making that much) The main caps already show signs of walking, and that was only on a conservative 600 hp tuneup.

Hmmm looks as if I was pretty close then, the S475 looks identical as far as hotside, center section, and compressor cover... The S475 is rated for 550-1050hp.

The S475 with the standard cover and 1.32 AR hotside will really only support about 850 hp in stock form, as the compressor won't flow quite enough air on an engine this size at 7,000 rpm. The race cover just opens things up a little more, but leaves the same compressor wheel in place. It's mainly made for racing classes that are limited to a 75 mm turbo.
