Howcome others dont need alts, but I do?

I guess I'm the only one who says you don't need an alt yet. OP, do what you want. Can't afford and alt, get a decent battery for now. I'm sure no one else is gonna agree with me though

I feel you 100% man, but I just dont have the money. I can't be spending 300-400$ on an alt, 500$ on subs, and 400$ on an amp. Thats just to much for me. Thats why I dont want to buy an alt :/ . But hey, idk man. I wanna go with Fi's cause there the top product for subs, but then, Im debating if I should just get some other subs cause their cheaper. I was thinking about 1 BL 18.. But then again, 2 15's would probably slap harder, correct?

if you dont have the money find a new hobby. Heres what you do. run it all on your stock alt and then when you kill it enjoy replacing it anyways just so you can get to school work or wherever you need to go.

You guys keep telling me I need an alternator and such and such, but people on youtube, real life, etc. dont have any? But there going to run the same set-up as me, or even greater? Like I want to run 2 Fi 15 SSD's on an AQ2200 Amp. Like I don't get it why others dont have one but I need 1 :/. Can anyone answer this for me? Thanks!

thats a lot to ask out of a little baby Honda alt. you dont have to upgrade your alt. but your amp is gonna be PISSED if you beat on it cuz you'll be running on very low volts if beaten on

if you like not being able to get the power out of your amp then yeah... he can stay with a stock alt...

but if hes going to do that why spend the money on a aq2200, why not just get a cheap amp then? if you half ass it get half ass equipment...

trust me, i am like the king of low voltage around here... and i hate it, i wish i didnt have to abuse my equipment like i do.. but sadly untill my alts arrive at my door ill have voltage drop

my thought could go either way, with just one aq 2200, you dont need to go crazy on electrical but you do need to beef it up a bit. you will most likely get by if you do 1/0 gauge big 3 and wiring throughout with a nice big battery in addition to your stock. That WILL put more stress on your smaller stock alt. Thats why most of the time we will recommend a HO alt. My feeling is add a nice alternator first then see if you need a second battery, especially because we all have a tendancy to build something loud and then a few months later want louder, if you already have the alt, add a couple batteries and you have room for more power!

Find 2 batteries with 100ah and your set till you can afford a real H/O alt.

so, you have 2 choices, really.... buy 2 or 3 batts, for around 400~ or buy a 220amp~ alt for around the same price and have no voltage drop... granted it is just a aq2200 but if you like sitting in the 12v range go ahead and get the batts.... if you hate sitting in the 12v range like i do, alts are the way to go

remember this... batts dont make power alts do.. if you dont have the alt power to keep them charged, they will eventually go bad
