SMD AA vs Isobaric

Not hating just want to get some feedback here, but they both got 2 coils, 2 magnets and moving same cone area. ones hated like no tomorrow the other praised like gods.

SMD AA has 1 'motor' driving 1 'coil' pushing 1 cone.

An isobaric setup doesn't.

i dont get it, i havent seen any threads where the isobaric is praised like gods... and you are talking about 1 subwoofer vs 2, and they are completely different leagues.... but if you think they are even remotely similar...

btw, isobaric isnt a sub... its a box... correct me if im wrong

isobaric is actually the mounting position of the subs. and yes in a sense 1 sub vs 2 but also not. because 2 15's mounted facing eachother, gasket to gasket, cone to cone, you dont even need a box, 2 coils 2 magnets moving as much air as 1 15 and the SMD AA 15 2 coils 2 magnets moving 1 15 cone. so why was everyone telling me isobaric sucks ass if ist the same as an $1049 sub

the way of loading is a push pull configuration, I understand that.

its still both, a enclosure and a way of loading, but its not a sub if how the OP wrote it, makes it seem like it is a sub

isobaric can be used in virtually all box designs

my thoughts on why people dislike isobaric is 1) you need to buy 2 subs 2) they face each other they must be cancelling! (sarcasm) 3) hard to understand for some, whether it be wiring or wave patterns 4) the classic example of hey i have two subs why dont i use both cones?

as for the SMD part its all trickery, (idk the details of how exactly it works but if it is like isobaric loading then..) it is one sub with two motors and coils. so basically people feel they get more for their money

i thought the SMD had 2 separate coils on the same coil former, running in separate motor gaps.

Isobaric is a form of subwoofer mounting, the goal is to create more force behind the same cone area. That is similar to how the SMD seems to be designed, having two motors stacked and 1 coil per motor, however the main difference is it is one sub, not two. But splitting the motors like that probably yields better cone control and more magnet force. One big motor may have x amount of force, but a motor with half the weight could have 2/3 that force, and two motors with 2/3 the force each linked together will yield more force. Just guessing though.

Doesn't the SMD have the coils offset in their gaps, so on the down stroke one coil will be fully in its gap while the other will be only half in. Or something like that, I think. It's to allow more linear excursion.

Well to make things clear, The SMD doesn't utilises isobaric, or something that looks like it.

It has absolutely nothing to do with isobaric anything, and everything with a parabolic BL curve while controlling things with an electro-mechanical breaking system.
