pstone11
I had a couple hundred ring terminals from darvex, but I guess they are all gone now. Where is the best place to get them these days? I would love to buy them without the black/red plastic sleeves. Anybody have a hookup? Autruche
I get them here. They're the slug kind, but if you drill a hole in the top of the lug, you can solder it like you normally would. Just make sure you use good solder with them, my friend tried to use cheap solder and it turned out like crap with those. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? orionexplorer
just out of curiosity why does eveyone like the open ended ones over the closed end ones? i use the closed end ones and just get it hot and fill it about half way up with solder and shove the wire in. its a little easier that way imo. not knocking anyones personal styles though, just wondering Quote 6 dc level 3 12's digital designs Z1A pioneer h/u 4 sets of rockford 6.5's crunch 1600.4 Mechman 270a alt kinetik hc2400 (soon to be xs power d3100) xs power 3400 (under the hood) lots of 1/
pstone11
just out of curiosity why does eveyone like the open ended ones over the closed end ones? i use the closed end ones and just get it hot and fill it about half way up with solder and shove the wire in. its a little easier that way imo. not knocking anyones personal styles though, just wondering The open end ones are better for me because when you just shove a wire into a hot pool of solder, it really dosn't get into the wire strands all the way and could result in a cold solder joint. With the open terminals I can ensure the wire is hot and the connector is the same temperatue which bonds the two metals together. Autruche
This is what I do for terminals, and it saves me a lot of money on them. I start with a standard closed end terminal. Then I drill a hole in the top. There you go, you can no solder it like an open ended one. Considering the price difference, I'm willing to do the extra work.
