  1. yo buddy. you wont be wiring in parallel when bridging it to the phoenix gold amp. you should wire it in series. making the load 4 ohms. 4 ohms bridged on the amp will output around 400 watts, just what you need Good luck.
  2. less interference and less heat.
  3. I may have to chill over there that day. Probably not competing.
  4. I have heard several different theories. I hear some people say to set it to 1/3 octave below tuning. There is a more technical process, heres a quote that sums up a good way to set the ss filter. "The port works as a bandpass filter, so the first thing you must to do is verify the frequency response of your sistem, you can use a decibelimeter or a rta beginning with the lower tone you can use, you must to draw a chart. with the values of your response, with this you will find the peak frequency of your enclosure, once done this you can determinate the frequency -3 dB of the port, From this value to the lower frequencies, your enclosure works as a infinite baffle, thus there is no damping to the cone, the excursion increases, and the control is minimum. decreasing the amount of sound. for example: if you detect that the -3dB point is set at the 26 Hz in your chart, you have to use this frequency with a tone generator, and do the next, identify in your chart the peak value for your port and take that value. we can say 90 dB. use your 26 Hz tone and calibrate your system to get the same 90 dB measured with your dBmeter or RTA, now begin to adjust your subsonic filter up to the position where the amplitude gets 3 dB below your initial value, that is 87 dB. with this action you have adjusted your subsonic filter to the exact frequency where the information begins to waste power with no benefits." Credit goes to RENAULT10 on diyma. I did fix some of the spelling errors, but even with them he seems to know his stuff.
  5. he wont need ss filter if hes running sealed. dunno whether he is or not. nice pick up though

Im going down to my uncles house this weekend most likely. I'll be sure to snap a couple when I'm there.
  9. The one problem i have..well its just more annoying...is that any links that get clicked on dont post up in a different window. It uses the same window so u have to use the back button or right click. Not a big deal but it would make the forum more user friendly. I know the older setup did this.
  10. currently writing a speech for class at 3am and fuckin jamming out to some good shit... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svc-2mwuLEk now back to work. just thought id stir up the forum a bit
  11. I think we as people get too bored easily with money. if we got a new car we want another one a year later. If we got a yacht that shit is old after a little while. I think the key is doing something different every day. And my situation at home right now is flipped upside down. I was making pretty decent money but now I have no job and im looking for another one. Lifes a bitch, and i just wanna put it in her butt right now
  12. x2? Im I'll even bring the popcorn. also lol at the BJ offer
  13. WILL u summmbitch!!!!! I was looking for a used pair and i just bought a BNIB set of them just arrived 2 hours ago actually lol. OP I have some Brand new...AND used crossovers for the XXX comps if you are looking for a decent crossover.
  14. I drove high once like 2 years ago and almost killed the newspaper guy way early in the morning. Ill never drive high or drunk again. true story.
  15. its just kind of difficult to find a 4 ohm resistor that can handle the power you will be putting through it. Also, you would be not only wasting power from the amp (creating heat), you will also be pulling more current for nothing. EDIT: just dont do it.
  16. http://www.myleatherexpressions.com/files/1601302/uploaded/collage-Colors2TW.jpg looks more gold to me. looks good though.
  17. if its not a dual 4 ohm sub then there is nothing u can do but buy a different sub with the impedance you need, or add another single 4 ohm sub in to the setup...which you said you didnt want to do. oh, there is another option, which is buy an amp that puts ou the power you need at 4 ohms.
  18. no that creates a shit ton of heat using a resistor.
  19. hmm never thought about that. But i do know that some head units are not 2 ohm stable. maybe thats why my buddy's stock mazda 3 radio kept blowing fuses lol.
  20. Bigger wiring is always better, don't let me steer you away from it. If you have the extra wire then sure, use it. Big wires look badass anyways. The money u spend on a fused d block will be more than just doing more runs. i also ran 8 gauge on my 4125. If you run 4 gauge on the 4125 then u will need a reducer. Here you go. http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/SFV/30046/vpid/1557389/vpcsid/0/rid/123284
  21. more processing power is always the shit, but u can save all that for later, and just wait for Jacob to answer your email. He will get back to you I'm sure. Sometimes he is just running a little far behind. There is always an inline RCA bass knob made by scosche that works fine. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10092_Scosche+RLC.html
  22. I ran that hellfire with a short run of 4 gauge to be honest. The amp never got warm, and 4 gauge can take 120 without a sweat. The answer to your 8 gauge question is that most of the 8 gauge wire charts i have seen say that 8 gauge is capable of eighty amps. Again, if the batt is in the trunk and close I wouldn't worry about it. If you choose to run 4 gauge then there are plenty of d blocks that will accept 1/0 in and 2 4 gauges out, and you could run a separate 8 gauge wire for the 4125. It's fine to run a smaller size fuse but just know that it will blow before what the amp may pull safely Power ratings for that amp can get close to 200 watts x 4 at 2 ohms on all channels so close to eighty amps may be pulled in that situation.
